Congratulation. You are holding one of the masterpieces from my long trail through Europe in your hand. Starting many years ago I still continue this combined painting by collecting pieces I find and get from friends wherever I am for a while. So it is a special documentation of my life time, my journey and of what I encountered while travelling through this wonderful Europe. It also reflects todays world. Now it has become part of your history.
This piece may have travelled a long way before I lay it now in your hands. I exhibit combinations of these 8 x 5 cm masterpieces in various countries and places and yours may have been part of an exhibition, installation or intervention.
You may wonder how i was traveling in these days (2019-2025) in Europe. Yes it was a challenge. But beside the fact that i am an conceptual artist with projects in different countries i traveled in professional missions. If you look closely you will find especially in your piece of art some hints about this conditions, restrictions and the new normal in this challenging times.

Congratulations, dear friend of the arts.
We started the ARTSURPRISE project in 2011. We, that was a handful of artists from the European artist network EL-DRAC, set up the first machine in Bochum (Germany). It shone in the darkened exhibition room in the corner, while a band member from the world-famous group KRAFTWERK filled the room with spherical sound.
We knew it was going to be a success, and the past 10 years have proven us right. Some have doubted it, but ARTSURPRISE has stayed true to its idea: to establish a platform in the art market on which new concepts of participatory art can be developed and researched. This project belongs to everyone who is involved, the hard-working helpers in the background, the artists who publish and market their art, the people in charge who promote the project, the gatekeepers who open the doors to the art market for us, the historians and journalists, who report on it, people like you, who give their consent with their act of acquisition and who are committed to promoting contemporary art and who we, the contemporary art emitters, want to surprise again and again.
