The series „The Towers“ by the sculptor Rüdiger Brede goes back to an occupation with old clay stones that he was able to save from the demolition of an industrial wasteland.
In a very organic way, the clay stones with their particularly distinctive shape were combined with the welded iron parts, which the artist repeatedly put together to form mysterious figures.
For ARTSURPRISE, the artist exclusively designed a small series of „TURMS“ that were cast in a clay mold.
The material invites the viewer to touch it. He notices the softness and thus the chance to create an individual pose by bending.
The new owner thus also becomes an artist, the work a joint creation, the multiple an individual piece.
