Cervera del Maestre 2024
In Cervera del Maestre, the mountain village in the Baix Maestrazgo, there is the story of the dragon FARAM, who lives in the caves of the mountains. For a few years now, the young people of the village have been reviving this legend and celebrating a dragon festival. The legend of the dragon was meant to spread fear and terror, especially among the so-called naughty children.
The young people see it more as a reason to celebrate and to have fun. They invite groups from other parts of the country and organize parades, including at night with fire-breathing dragon carriages pulling around. The festival has now become an integral part of the culture of the village. Expanded with a medieval market, it attracts many visitors. One visitor was Mian – in 2024, the year of the dragon!
Mian (artist name) loves to draw. The dragon is a grateful motif for the young artist. She made many designs and ultimately decided on a very special one. The motif was transferred to 500-year-old olive wood, using a laser beam of over 1400 degrees Celsius. This is reminiscent of the fire and power of the dragon.
Like many artists who visit the village, Mian lived in the villages artist residence, the House of the Dragon (CASAdelDRAGON).
Visit Cervera del Maestre. Look for the white dragon. Mian also took part in this, together with 12 young people from Romania and Moldova. Visit the House of the Dragon, a place for aspiring creatives from all over the world.
