Artsurprise is a social sculpture. Over 300 artists are involved. They have created more than 30,000 works of art to date. Each work is a clear statement about authorship, originality, and the power of contemporary art. And every single work of art has its own – often underestimated – value.
Nevertheless, after 15 years of the social sculpture Artsurprise’s existence, the first 1,000 boxes are somehow special. They were actually already distributed among the many vending machine locations. But sometimes a vending machine is replaced or converted. And that’s where individual examples from the first series can be found.
What is already impossible for collectors today is once again possible here in a small collection. Here, art lovers can start or enhance their collection with individual examples from the beginnings of this unique social sculpture Artsurprise.
It’s a very special feeling when we find individual works from this beginning in the vending machines. Like a message in a bottle, they are contemporary witnesses to the beginning of what is arguably the largest social art project of our time. It’s truly something special to hold such a box in your hands. And we want to share this feeling with you.
